DAKOTA MEYER

Dakota was born and raised in Columbia, Kentucky and is father to two beautiful daughters. After graduating from high school, Dakota enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2006 and completed basic training at Parris Island Recruit Training Depot later that year.

In 2007, he became one of the youngest school-trained snipers in the Marine Corps. Dakota deployed twice to combat, deploying to Iraq in 2007 and Afghanistan in 2009. For his actions on his last deployment to Afghanistan, he became the first living United States Marine in 41 years to receive the Medal of Honor.

Dakota Founded Steel to Reel to provide a community for those looking to improve their survivability, increase confidence and—ultimately—achieve true self preservation. He is a knowledgeable outdoorsman and is dedicated to using his life experiences and training to help others become more prepared for disaster, or any survival situation life throws at them.
